foundry equipment

1.    Transport of sand and castings

Vibrating transporters

Due to the low transfer levels for delivering goods from one transport system to the other, these systems are universally applicable. They are particularly suited for the transport of dusty, hot and aggressive materials. The vibrating conveyor is put into directional oscillations through vibrating motors. The oscillating system is supported on the foundation by means of insulation springs. Due to the box-type construction especially designed for vibrating conveyors we have practically no bearing failures at the vibrating motors.

Elevators
Elevators are used for vertical transport of bulk materials. In foundries mostly use: dry sands (silica sand, chromate sand, magnesite sand, etc.), prepared bentonite sand and return bentonitLivarstvoe sand.

Elevator is composed from:
-    Head pulley – self cleaning
-    Foot pulley – self cleaning
-    Endless rubber belt
-    Enameled buckets
-    Head with bearing supports of drive pulley and outlet funnel
-    Foot with control door, screw take up mechanism and inlet funnel,
-    Housing – made of profiled plates
-    Drive with motor reducer

Elevators are usually made as self-supported construction. For maintenance reasons a platform is mounted around the head, which is usually adaptable with regard to other adjacent constructions.

2. Dedusting equipment

Dry filters
Cartridge filters are made of steel structure, which consists of two separate compartments. In the lower chamber (in which are built in cartridge filter plys) is a funnel for collecting and discharging dust where enters dirty air, which passes through filter cartridges in the upper chamber and cleaned air is leaving through the outlet.  In the outlet of the upper chamber is built in suitable fan, which blows off filtered air in the room or surroundings. In the upper chamber is installed blow-off system for cleaning dust from cartridge plys, which is equipped with an electronic programmer with which can be set intensity and interval of successive blow off of cartridge plys on the surface of the filter. Dust is collected in the funnel of cartridge filter, which is periodically emptied manually using mechanical dumpers or continuously via a built in radial dose in bags or containers.
From cartridge filters filtered air is left in the room or surroundings at statutorily prescribed standards.

Cyclones
Cyclones represent filter option. This is a pre-filter that eliminates rough particles, fine dust is travelling forward to the filter. Cyclones are important, because otherwise in the foundries the filters are too burdened.

Absolute filters
Absolute filters are option of filter and are set after the filter, to clean the air additionally.

Filters with higher fire and explosion safety
In case of shotblasting castings which are made from Al-alloys with additions of silicon, magnesium, zinc, copper, etc. it is necessary to adjust the equipment for dedusting of shotblasting equipment to elaborate of explosion threat. Physical – chemical explosion properties of aluminium powder in inadequate concentrations, when blasting various alloys of aluminium powder, mixed with dust of various abrasives, presents when dedusting shotblasting machines serious and potential dangerous explosion environment. In the explosion threat elaborate there must be for environment and rooms’ well-defined zones of danger, risk assessment and measurements to achieve objectives of anti-explosion protection.
