What is the difference between shot blasting and sandblasting?

Shot blasting: abrasive mean gets acceleration through the turbine, which is rapidly turning in a separate steel housing, with one directed lateral hole. Shot blasting is used for blasting metal, different profiles and mobile shotblasting machine is used for blasting drums, floor or walls.

Sandblasting: abrasive enters into a stream of compressed air and gets a real acceleration in the outflow or leakage from the blasting nozzle. Sandblasting is used in the chambers and cabins for hand blasting.
